Your Passport to a Smooth Journey

A guide aimed at making journeys by air as smooth and trouble free as possible

Summary:

Disabled travellers can download a free passport-sized guide aimed at making journeys by air as smooth and trouble free as possible. The guide outlines what services disabled people, people with reduced mobility and their families can expect when they travel.

If you are disabled or have difficulty moving around, you can receive free assistance when you fly to and from the UK and Europe, including on domestic flights. Under European law, this assistance is available to anyone with mobility requirements – for example
because of their disability, age or a temporary injury. Sometimes, however, the assistance you get may not meet your expectations or communication can break down. In some limited cases, your requirements may not be covered by the law.

This guide explains your rights and what to do to make sure you have the best chance of a smooth journey. You can find out more from their free step-by-step guide ‘Your Rights to Fly’, available from www.equalityhumanrights.com.
