Wetwheels Edinburgh CIC

A unique opportunity for disabled and disadvantaged people of all age to access the water

Wetwheels offers a unique opportunity for disabled and disadvantaged people of all ages – including those with multiple, profound and complex impairments – to access the water.

Central to our experience is active participation – helping to broaden aspirations, increase confidence and directly impact on health and wellbeing.   A Wetwheels experience challenges self-perceptions, extends horizons and opens up new opportunities.  We ensure full wheelchair access to the boat – including a ramp to the steering position and adapted steering controls.  All are active participants rather than simply passengers, as everybody gets the chance to take the helm as skipper and have the chance to drive!

We have scheduled trips and experiences from our main base in Port Edgar, and these can all be tailored to suit each individual and group.  These experiences could include viewing the majestic UNESCO registered Forth Rail Bridge from the sea, meeting the seals and puffins on the local islands, or seeing the Naval Dockyard of Rosyth where the new aircraft carriers were constructed.

We can take up to 12 people including 3 wheelchairs on each session and the boat is available as a group or for individual bookings, available 7 days a week from March to October.
