Summary:

The UK Safer Internet Centre delivers a wide range of activity to promote the safe and responsible use of technology:

Safer Internet Day will be held on to 11th February 2020.

  • develops self-assessment tools for schools and other settings to evaluate their esafety provision, including policy development;
  • delivers education sessions for children, parents, carers and teachers in schools and other settings, reaching over 30,000 every year;
  • hosts the UKCCIS Evidence Group’s Research Highlight series, which summarises key academic publications on children and the internet;
  • shapes policy at school, industry and government level, both in the UK and internationally;
  • facilitates youth panels to give young people a voice on these issues;
  • contributes to and commission academic research into children’s media use;
  • works in partnership with others in the UK and globally – the Centre’s resources are used in many countries worldwide;
  • continues to develop the UK Safer Internet Centre website as a hub for information and advice, to reflect the range of work taking place across the UK.
