U Can Do IT

UCanDoIT offers people with disabilities one to one training in their own homes on how to use the internet

Aims:

To teach people with disabilities how to use the internet.

Services provided:

UCanDoIT offers one to one tuition, together with encouragement and support, to people with disabilities of all ages who want to learn how to use the internet in their own home. All tutors have PVG clearance.

The course is designed for beginners (and those who want to broaden their knowledge) and doesn’t involve any formal examination at the end. The lessons are based on the needs of the learner and usually include using the web for searching, shopping and accessing services, sending and receiving emails, Skype to talk for free to friends and family anywhere in the world and much more.

To take the course all that is needed is access at home to a reasonably up-to-date computer, tablet or smartphone with the means to connect to the internet. If specialist equipment or software is needed, the organisation can put people in touch with organisations that can advise on the different solutions that are available.

There are a limited number of recycled computers available.
