The Lin Berwick Trust

Charity set up to provide purpose-built, self catering holiday accommodation for disabled people, their families and carers

Summary:

Lin Berwick is blind, has cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user, and as a result of her own inability to find holiday accommodation suitably adapted for her disabilities she and her husband, Ralph, founded the Lin Berwick Trust.  It was their aim and that of their fellow Trustees to try to fill this gap in the holiday accommodation market, using Lin’s own disabilities as the starting point for the design of the holiday.

The Trust has three cottages – Berwick Cottage in East Harling, Norfolk, Dennis Duncan House in Dirleton East Lothian and Ralph Boyce House in Cornwall.

All cottages are equipped with aids and equipment including:

Electrically adjustable beds, overhead hoists, pressure care mattresses, adjustable wash hand basin, Clos-o-Mat toilet, wheelchair accessible shower etc.
