To increase public awareness of both the prevalence and effect of the sexual abuse and rape on boys and men.
Services provided:
Provide information, support and counselling for men who have been raped or sexually abused.
Any man who has suffered sexual abuse or rape in the past, can turn to Survivors UK for help. They have a range of support options to help a person recover from their experience and put the past behind them.
Firstly, they can provide someone to talk to, through the National Helpline (Webchat – www.survivorsuk.org, or textchat- 020 3322 1860) which is staffed by fully trained volunteers. It is confidential, anonymous and often the first port of call for those seeking help.
They can also arrange for face-to-face counselling in London, where they are based, or they can provide information throughout the rest of the country via their links with other Survivor Agencies and their network of approved specialist counsellors.
They also have 3 male ISVA who provides emotional and practical support to male survivors in London.They can help understand how the criminal justice process works if survivors choose to report to the police, and can support access to appropriate health services.
Also offer training courses, sharing their expertise with other service providers in the charity, care and health sector industries.
