Snowdon Trust

A charity that assists physically and sensory disabled people to access vocational and academic courses in the UK by awarding grants

Services provided:

They are a charity that assists physically and sensory disabled people to access vocational and academic courses in the UK by awarding grants. These can be for equipment and essential study needs. They only give awards where funding cannot be met through other channels.

If you have a physical or sensory disability and are in further or higher education or vocational training towards employment, you can apply to them for help with additional disability-related costs that are not fully provided for you from available statutory funding.

You can apply for help with funding such things as:

  • Human help – sign language interpreters and people to take notes
  • Computer equipment
  • Adapted or additional accommodation
  • Travel costs
  • Mobility equipment
  • Other costs which relate solely to disability

They will not usually meet expenses that have to be borne by all students, such as tuition fees or standard living and accommodation costs (but we will occasionally help with tuition fees if a student can provide justification that their need is directly related to their disability).

They accept applications from February 1st to August 31st for funding for the academic year starting in September.

Apply through the Grants section on the website or download the application form.
