Aims:
To improve communication between deaf and hearing people by the development of curricula and examinations in communication skills.
Services provided:
Signature works with government and politicians to help develop public policy which helps deaf people to communicate in their own language and subsequently to fulfil their potential. They also work in partnership with deaf representative bodies and other voluntary sector organisations to build both consensus and capacity in their joint campaigning work.
Offers certification in British Sign Language and other deaf related qualifications, as well as training and monitoring of assessors.
Signature maintains the following registers: British Sign Language / English Interpreters, Lipspeakers, Deafblind Manual Interpreters and Speech to Text Reporters.
