Scottish Women’s Convention

Provide opportunities for debate about tackling specific issues important to women

Aims:

To enable women to:

  • engage with the Scottish Executive, Scottish Parliament and other institutions
  • ensure that issues important to women are considered at all stages of the policy process
  • make a real contribution to policy development in Scotland
  • include as many women as possible from all groups in Scotland.

Services provided:

SWC provide opportunities for debate about tackling specific issues such as:-

  • The average hourly gap between women’s and men’s wages in Scotland
  • Lack of child care in women’s participation in work, education and training
  • Improving access to public services such as transport, health care and education for all women in Scotland
  • Violence against women
  • Decision making in public and political life

Membership:

There is no charge for membership.

Publications:
