As a Saffron tenant you will receive a support service from the Saffron team. Bilingual staff may be available and we can access interpreting services if necessary.

The Saffron Project can provide temporary furnished accommodation in a safe and comfortable environment for young people from BME backgrounds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The accommodation comprises of self-contained furnished flats in the Southside of Glasgow.

You will be supported by all the Saffron team, however, you will have a named worker who will be responsible for your support. The team are available Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm (except Public Holidays). You will be given information about getting assistance out with these times.

The Saffron Project can provide help to

  • Maintain your tenancy
  • Budget and pay bills
  • Keep your home safe and secure
  • Deal with the maintenance of your home
  • Access college courses
  • Reduce isolation and provide emotional support
  • Move on to your own permanent tenancy

The Project offers a housing support service which is registered with the care commission. This means that the service operates to nationally recognised standards and is regularly inspected.

Currently you will not be charged for the housing support service as it is a temporary homeless service and therefore exempt. You will be responsible for paying rent, service and furniture charges and the bills for your own home.

If you wish to be referred to the Saffron Project you can ask your Social Worker, GP or other agency worker to support you with this.

If you are not in contact with any other support agency, then please contact the project directly. They will advise you on how to get help with your referral.
