Aims:
- To promote the relief and welfare of people with learning difficulties in all types of residential care establishments including the family home
- To represent the views of all parents and relatives
- To extend education beyond the age of eighteen
- To develop residential and village communities and their evolution within suitable existing hospital sites
- To change the Law to recognise the limited decision making abilities of many people with learning disability.
services provided:
- Lobbies national and local government to improve the choice of residential care, with adequate support services for people with learning disability
- Provides information, advice and support to people with learning disabilities and their families
- Co-operates with other organisations in the common cause
- Raises awareness amongst the general public.
