Aims:
To provide a free, confidential telephone helpline service, available to every parent and all others caring for a child in Scotland.
Services provided:
The national, confidential helpline provides advice and support to anyone caring for or concerned about a child.
People call for all sorts of reasons – the top issues they contact them about are when:
- they are worried about how family members are getting on
- they need help sorting contact and/or residence in relation to their children
- they are worried about their child or young person’s behaviour
- they feel under stress and just need a little time to themselves, talking with someone who understands
- their child is being bullied and they want to discuss what to do about it
They have a series of podcasts and produce a range of factsheets on issues they are contacted about frequently – that are free to download and keep. Information about money matters is also available.
ParentLine is open seven days a week, 365 days a year.
