Aims:
To enhance the social inclusion of people with disabilities in Orkney.
Services provided:
- Call-in Centre for information on all aspects of disability and equipment
- Living Aids (aids such as raised toilet seats or washable bed pads can be bought from Orkney Disability Forum)
- Undertake surveys of public buildings and services with recommendations for improved access and facilities
- Arrange publicity events and seminars for disability awareness
- Advocacy service
- Access panel
- Dial-a-Bus scheme for locals and tourists
- Shopmobility scheme for locals and tourists (see separate entry)
- Midas training for minibus drivers.
Membership costs:
£20.00 membership covers all schemes.
