Services provided:
Ofcom is the new communications regulator. They have legal powers under the Communications Act 2003 to license and regulate all commercial TV and radio in the UK, as well as telecommunications and wireless services.
If a TV or radio is affected by interference they may be able to help. Although they cannot repair faulty or poorly-installed equipment, in some cases they can fit a filter to equipment which may reduce interference problems.
They also regulate what broadcasters produce through broadcasting codes. They have designed these codes to make sure nothing is broadcast which is offensive, harmful, inaccurate or unfair. Broadcasting codes can be found on the website.
Ofcom can also help if a person is unhappy with telecoms service, whether it is a landline, mobile phone service or access to the internet.
