Macular conditions all affect the central part of the retina and cause loss of central vision. Macular disease only affects the macula and is the most common cause of sight loss in industrialised countries. Some other conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusion can also damage the macula.
The Macular Society Edinburgh meet on the last Friday of each month, (except December) in the Church Halls at the corner of London Road and Easter Road, Edinburgh. Enter from Easter Road end.
