The Homelands Trust is a registered, Scottish charity (SC047615). It has 9 purpose-built self-catering lodges, designed to meet the needs of disabled people.
The lodges are located in the pretty seaside village of Lundin Links in Fife. Set in mature woodlands overlooking Largo Bay, they have spectacular views across the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and the Lothians.
There are 3 x 8-bed properties (1 opened in 2014 and 2 in 2023) with 2 accessible twin bedrooms downstairs and 2 twin/ double bedrooms upstairs.
There are also 6 x 6-bed properties. The 3 older lodges (2014) have 1 accessible bedroom downstairs, a twin/ double bedroom upstairs for carers and a double sofa bed in the lounge. The 3 newer lodges (2023) have 3 twin/ double bedrooms, with 1 twin accessible bedroom downstairs and 2 twin/ double bedrooms upstairs. There is a separate toilet downstairs and a bathroom upstairs in all 9 lodges. See the 360° tour of each property for details of which lodges have baths.
All 9 lodges have ceiling tracking hoists in the accessible bedroom(s) and in the wet room. All specialist equipment is provided free of charge. The list includes profiling bed(s), airflow mattress(es), various different shower chairs, shower trolley, mobile hoist, stand aid, perching stool, mobility scooters and other smaller equipment. Each lodge has a small patio, with garden furniture and a brick BBQ. Two of the 9 lodges are pet-free.
