Home-Start Lorn

Home-Start offers informal, friendly support to parents with at least one child under the age of five

Services provided:

Home-Start is a national voluntary organisation offering informal, friendly support to parents with at least one child under the age of five. The families they help come from a wide variety of backgrounds and are looking for support for many different reasons including: postnatal illness, loneliness, relationship problems, poverty, disability, single parenthood and coping with multiple births or several young children.

Families are often referred to their local Home-Start scheme via their GP, Health Visitor or Social Worker, however many families contact their local scheme directly. Families are visited by a Home-Start volunteer while they feel they need help, which can be for weeks or years.

The support is free and confidential.
