We strive to help children learn and believe in their own strengths and resources so they may realise their full potential
We provide specialist help to address and overcome disadvantage and abuse
We aim to help children live in families and local communities and go to school within those communities.
Specialist education services, both on a day and all year round residential basis, for children of primary age up to early secondary age.
A wide variety of adventurous and environmental experiences which are fully integrated into the curriculum.
A highly specialised service, tailoring interventions and approaches to meet individual need; working alongside and providing support to families and deploying a highly collaborative approach along with referring local authorities and other relevant agencies.
We operate as a national resource for local authorities throughout Scotland, with services being tailored to the needs of each of the thirty children placed within the school.
Harmeny is a Grant Aided Specialist School, providing an integrated approach to the education and care of children, who have complex social emotional and behavioural needs.
Children who are referred to Harmeny have often experienced complete family breakdown, followed by multiple residential and / or foster placement breakdown; and exclusion from mainstream or specialist education.
Our work at Harmeny starts with the child; their needs are at the heart of all that we do. We are a highly nurturing living and learning community, committed to providing excellent care and education. We strive to help children experience the wonders of childhood, overcome their difficulties and build strengths and resilience for the future.
