Aims:
Providing education, therapy and care for children who are deaf or who have communication difficulties from all over Scotland and the north of England.
Services provided:
- Bilingual (English and British Sign Language) education in nursery, primary and secondary level with both day and residential places available.
- BSL classes.
- Carers and toddlers group.
- Venue hire for events of all sizes, including meeting rooms, overnight accommodation and sports facilities.
Event spaces for hire:
Donaldson’s has two large indoor spaces available for hire which are suitable for conferences, training, concerts or sporting events. Each area is suitable for up to 200 people and hire includes the use of all technology required for presentations; the use of flexible modular staging; and chair hire. These rooms can be hired during the daytime, weekends or evening, both during and after school hours.
Portable induction loop and also phonak wall pilot system in all meeting rooms and teaching areas. The school has been specially designed for optimum accoustics. There is a flashing light fire alarm and deaf aleter system installed. All visitors must be accompanied by a staff member during school hours. There are exits on ground and lower ground floor and a wheelchair lift in residence.
An OHP projector, microphone, video, DVD, PC and laptops with wi-fi access are available. In-house catering service.
