Aims:

To support the victims of violent crime by:

  • providing a fair and efficient service to applicants
  • investigating thoroughly all claims for criminal injuries compensation
  • treating applicants with sensitivity and courtesy at all times.

services provided:

  • Provide compensation for injuries in circumstances which qualify under the 1996 (and now 2001) criminal injuries compensation scheme
  • Provide appropriate services to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals
  • Panel following the transfer of residual work from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board
  • Ensure that services are delivered efficiently, effectively and with proper consideration to value for money
  • Process efficiently, fairly and consistently all claims made under the scheme
  • Ensure proper accountability for and use of, public funds
  • Achieve progressive improvement in the efficiency, effectiveness and economy of operations.

Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm, except Wednesdays when the hours are 10.00am – 5.00pm. 
The office is not open to members of the public.
