To support the victims of violent crime by:
- providing a fair and efficient service to applicants
- investigating thoroughly all claims for criminal injuries compensation
- treating applicants with sensitivity and courtesy at all times.
services provided:
- Provide compensation for injuries in circumstances which qualify under the 1996 (and now 2001) criminal injuries compensation scheme
- Provide appropriate services to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals
- Panel following the transfer of residual work from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board
- Ensure that services are delivered efficiently, effectively and with proper consideration to value for money
- Process efficiently, fairly and consistently all claims made under the scheme
- Ensure proper accountability for and use of, public funds
- Achieve progressive improvement in the efficiency, effectiveness and economy of operations.
