Services provided:
The ethos of Care and Repair is to enable older and disabled people to live their lives independently and safely for as long as possible in their own homes. This is reflected in the following practical services offered to those who are 60 or over and/or disabled and living in Edinburgh: Small Repairs (charge is payable), Adaptations (owners and private tenants), Handyperson (Basic DIY and Digital / IT tasks carried out by Volunteers – small donation), Trade Referrals (contact details for reliable trades people – small donation) and Home from Hospital (including the fitting of Keysafes – charge is payable). C&RE prides itself on offering joined-up and seamless services that are readily available to help support a shift from acute to community setting, enabling people to stay at home for longer. Our unique and responsive approach helps to support the health and social care integration agenda and as such, we are recognised as a lead Third Sector delivery partner. Care and Repair has recently become an approved installer of Easiaccess ramps and handrails. These systems are quicker and cheaper to install than more traditional products. In addition to this, their Joinery Team now consists of two Trusted Assessors who are trained to assess for and prescribe a simple solution or a basic piece of equipment to meet individual needs.
