Services provided:
Buchan Dial-a-Community Bus serves the Central Buchan area of North East Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Much of the community is rurally isolated villages and the bus services which operate in this area do so on a subsidised basis and are infrequent. Dial-a-community bus has enhanced the transport services currently available.
A potential customer can contact the organisation either themselves, or through another agency e.g.; carer/medical or social worker etc. At that point either the co-ordinator or, on occasion, the Dial-A-Bus driver will go to meet with them, explain about the services (clients may need more than one of the services) and complete an assessment form.
The shopping service is able to access concessionary fares which means that 90 to 95% of clients are not charged for the service. The remaining passengers are a small amount.
The organisation provide a volunteer passenger assistant on all trips if required and clients can have access to their own passenger assistant, or, bring along a family member / carer should they require a little extra help. Contact the organisation for further details.
