Artlink – Edinburgh and the Lothians

Arts projects for specific groups, including disabled people

Aims:

To support the rights of disabled people to access the arts. Artlink believes that participation in the arts plays a significant role in achieving personal goals and social change.

Services provided:

There are four service areas:

Arts for Mental Health, Artlink Midlothian, Arts Access and Hospital Arts

Arts for Mental Health – One to one arts opportunities for people with mental health needs and some group workshops
Artlink Midlothian – One to one arts opportunities for people with learning disabilities
Arts Access – Encourage disabled people to access the arts.  Provides support and opportunities to access arts events such as the theatre, galleries accompanied by a volunteer
Hospital Arts – creates environments in  which staff, patients and artists can discuss, learn and initiate ways of working within a public and healthcare setting.  Includes workshops / events and an exhibition programme within four hospital galleries.
