Alcohol and Drugs Action aims to reduce the negative impact of drug and alcohol use on individuals, families and communities across the North East through providing client led, evidence-based, high quality services which deliver measurable outcomes relating to reducing harmful drug/alcohol use, promoting recovery of those affected and other related positive health and social outcomes
ADA has been operating in the North East of Scotland as a provider of specialist drug and alcohol services for nearly thirty years. ADA employs over fifty staff and have a growing team of volunteers who work across the spectrum of drug and alcohol use to deliver a wide range of services and support packages. The ADA team have a positive impact on:
- Preventing problematic alcohol and drug use
- Reducing risk and harm to people using alcohol or drugs
- Supporting people in recovery from problematic alcohol and drug use
- Supporting families and friends affected by alcohol and drug use.
- Groups are available for family members looking for support and individuals in recovery.
ADA services include one-to-one and group support for people with drug or alcohol issues. ADA also support concerned family members, young people and children affected by someone else’s drug or alcohol use. The telephone helpline is 01224 594 700. It can be accessed seven days a week Monday to Friday 10.30am-1pm, 2pm-5pm and on a Monday & Thursday evening 5.30pm- 7pm.
