Age Concern Ayr

Information and advice service with specific focus on issues affecting those aged 55 and over in South Ayrshire.

SERVICES PROVIDED

Provide information and advice on:

  • Advice on Benefits (appointments can also be arranged with the Benefits Advisors team from the Department of Works and Pensions)
  • Council charging procedures for care homes (those aged 60 and over)
  • NHS Dental Charges
  • Insurance – Home / Travel / Motor etc.
  • Cold Weather / Winter Fuel Payments
  • Assistance with Form Filling. Types of forms can include Community Care Grants / Crisis Loans; Winter Fuel Payment; National Entitlement Cards; Benefits;  Blue Badge Applications; Disabled Badge Holder Parking Ticket Appeals (Parking Tickets as issued by South Ayrshire Council)

Other services:

  • Operate a Grass Cutting Scheme
  • Organise Summer Trips
  • Operate a Charity Shop at 5 Crown Street Ayr (run entirely by olunteers).

Age Concern Ayr Charity Shop: Mon – Sat. 10am – 12.30pm – (1 hr lunchbreak) then open again 1.30pm – 4.30pm  tel. 01292 262894
