Aims:
To provide independent advocacy to individuals in the City of Edinburgh who live in the community and who experience or have experienced mental ill health.
Services provided:
- Individual and collective advocacy for people who use mental health services in Edinburgh
- Individual advocacy for inpatients at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital
- Individual advocacy for all prisoners in HMP Edinburgh
Advocacy is around a wide range of issues that can affect a persons life. This can include working with people who are facing compulsory treatment under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 or those already compelled under the Act. They also provide advocacy in relation to safeguards such as Named Persons and Advance Statements Delivered through contracted workers.
