We've been around since 1915, and we’re here to offer support across Scotland to veterans of the Armed Forces who need support to adapt to sight loss.

Sight Scotland Veterans, formerly known as Scottish War Blinded, is the sister charity of Sight Scotland.  Sight Scotland Veterans provides free support to armed forces veterans affected by sight loss in Scotland to help them regain confidence, restore their independence and make new connections.

How we can help:   

  • One to one expert support from a locally based team member.
  • Information and advice on thriving with changes to your sight.
  • Free specialist equipment e.g. talking watches/clocks, optical & electronic magnifiers, talking book players, task lights and phones.
  • Expert rehabilitation, mobility, and independent living support.
  • Links to other services e.g. benefits advice, Blue Badge application.  
  • Opportunities for social events and activities. 
  • Attendance at our activity centres (West Lothian and Renfrewshire).  

Sight Scotland Veterans supports anyone who has served in the British Armed Forces, including those who did National Service.
