Poppyscotland (Earl Haig Fund Scotland)

Delivering support to the veterans' community in Scotland

Aims:

To raise funds for and promote the well-being of the ex-Service community in Scotland.

Services provided:

  • Benevolence – delivery of financial assistance to veterans in financial distress through grants to meet an immediate need or for those on low income.
  • Poppyscotland also provides access to occupational therapists and runs its own second hand electrically powered vehicle service.
  • Also funds the Royal British Legion Scotland War Pensions Advice and Appeals service and is engaged with Citizens Advice Scotland to better address the advice needs of veterans through the Bureau.
  • Provides financial support for organisations that deliver specific services to the veterans’ community and also acts as the lead organisation in the area of research for the benefit of the veterans’ community throughout Scotland.
  • Employment opportunities for veterans with disabilities are provided through the Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory, where poppies and wreaths are made.
