In 2022 dad of two Jason Liversidge broke the record for the fastest head controlled electric wheelchair.
Jason, who is paralysed from the neck down due to motor neuron disease and also terminally ill with Fabrys disease, controlled the specially built wheelchair by moving a switch with his head. He achieved an average speed of 41.8mph round Elvington Racetrack in August only a few months after surviving a cardiac arrest.
This record breaks the previous record he set in 2020.
