Training has been steady this quarter with a bit of a dip during the Christmas and New Year period which was to be expected. In-person training took me from upstairs in a partner organisations office all the way to The Borders but has yet to get me on a ferry to an island. If anyone in The Western Isles needs in-person accessibility training I’m available (-;
In terms of Teams led training I did have the opportunity to provide a training session to some faculty members and students at NUST university in Pakistan. This was through a partnership between them and Dundee University which also includes filming discussions for their blog and helping design their website to ensure accessibility.
The training was delivered to both roomfuls of people where there were people having to stand at the back and to single attendees who required some bespoke training (mixing two courses together while cutting out bits from each which were not relevant or were already known). Note that while we do offer a range of pre-designed courses we can tailor accessibility training to your own needs whether as individuals or organisations.
Our most popular training is still Accessibility Awareness which is now CPD accredited as an in-person training course as well as CPD accredited for the E-Learning version. The in-person course offers 2 hours of CPD time and the E-Learning version offers 90 minutes. Find out more about CPD accreditation on the CPD Standards website
We have also partnered with SUSE (Scottish Union of Social Enterprises) to provide training sessions in Accessible Digital Information. So far we have completed one session which went well and received good feedback and we have another booked for 19th February if you are interested in signing up for training via that avenue. See the SUSE website here for details.
If you would like to speak to us about booking any of the training then you can email on training@disabilityscot.org.uk or if you are coming to The Gathering in Edinburgh in February then we are at stall 27 in the Cromdale Hall
Our current training includes
Accessibility Awareness for Digital Information
Accessible Documents
Accessible Social Media
