To enable disabled people, whatever their level of disability, to enjoy camping activity holidays on this 12 acre site.
Woodlarks is a charity dedicated to providing a permanent camp site for people with disabilities of all ages. Eight of the week-long camps are open to all comers, according to age etc. Most other weeks during the camping season from May to September are booked by special needs schools and groups. Woodlarks has an outdoor heated swimming pool with heated changing rooms equipped with ceiling hoists etc; an aerial runway (zip line); trampoline; bird hide; a netball court; sports equipment, woodland BBQs and a fir tree chapel. Off site links with local organisations provide sailing, canoeing, forest bicycling, water ski-ing etc.
Type of accommodation:
The Trust provides tents, beds, and mattresses for those who wish to sleep outdoors. Three “bunkhouse” tents are floored for the use of mobile hoists and two have electric points in them. There are 16 indoor bed spaces, 8 in up-to-date rooms with ceiling hoists and adjustable beds. Toilets and showers cater for varied abilities. There is a central dining / recreation hall.
