- Whizz-Kids is a national charity that raises money to provide disabled children and young people with customised mobility equipment not available through the NHS
- Whizz-Kids is about giving disabled children and young people the independence to enjoy an active childhood – at home, at school and at play.
The types of equipment provided include powered and manual wheelchairs, trikes, scooters and buggies. All the equipment they provide is assessed by a therapist for it’s suitability to the child. Whizz-Kidz also provides Wheelchair Skills Training, Life Skills and advice and information about the importance of independent mobility to young disabled people and their families and campaigns to improve provision of equipment by statutory services.
Whizz-Kidz also run regular Ambassador Clubs where young people get together to socialise, play sports, learn life skills and have fun and run residential camps.
Applicants to Whizz-Kids are not obliged to pay for the services but all donations are welcome.
