Deal with applications and appeals in tribunal decisions

Aims:

To deal with applications and appeals on points of law against tribunal decisions, in relation to social security, child support matters, assessments, tax credits, housing and council tax benefits, and pensions appeals.

Services provided:

Receive appeals and applications for leave to appeal and process them for the Judges to make their decisions. Registrars to the Judges are lawyers who provide support and research for the Judges and deal with some interlocutory matters. The Judges are appointed by the Crown and decide legal issues arising from tribunal decisions.
