A booklet explaining the Social Model of disability and its importance


The Social Model of Disability by SAiF member Grant Carson  was launched on 18th June 2009. The booklet is aimed at policy and decision makers across all sectors, now and in the future. It explains the Social Model and its importance. It is a straight forward and accessible guide offering practical help on how to improve information and service provision. It also offers an explanation of why adoption of the Social Model by society, rather than the Medical Model, would transform the lives of disabled people by removing barriers and countering discrimination.
