To provide a high quality service to people with learning disabilities who are vulnerable as victims and / or perpetrators of sexual abuse.
Respond works with people with learning disabilities who have experienced significant trauma or abuse in their lives. They specialise in working with the effects of sexual abuse, but also work with people whose problems are not necessarily sexual. They provide support, advice and training for families and professionals supporting people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma. Respond also works with parents with learning disabilities, and runs a Young People’s Adult Service. They work with perpetrators of sexual abuse who themselves have learning disabilities. Training courses for organisations can be delivered in house and tailor-made to organisations’ needs.
