Eye Tests: The Outside Clinic will organise an optometrist to examine a client’s eyes in their own home. Home visiting optometrists are equipped to detect glaucoma, cataracts and other potential visual problems. They also provide helpful advice and assist with choosing the best frames and lenses when required. The spectacles are then manufactured and a second appointment is made for the spectacles to be delivered.
Hearing Tests: The Outside Clinic’s national domiciliary hearing service is backed by a team of qualified Hearing Aid Audiologists based locally and is designed for patients that find it difficult to get to their local high street or hospital audiology department.
Services are free, and sight-tests are free to all those patients who qualify. There is a free range of spectacles and hearing aids available to those who are in receipt of appropriate benefits. For further advice or an appointment contact the organisation.
At the moment the hearing service is not available in Scotland.
