They give free, condidential advice over the telephone for older people, their families and carers on issues such as getting help at home, adaptations, care assessments, paying for care, staying in touch with other people and welfare benefits.
Their advisers are knowledgeable and patient. They may answer your query straightaway or, if you need more time, book a follow-up appointment with you for a more detailed discussion.
Regular calls and visits:
It can be hard keeping in contact with people as time goes by, especially if you’ve lost close friends or family, or your health isn’t what it used to be. A regular telephone call or visit from an Indeendent Age volunteer can make all the difference – even if you only want it for a few months to help you through a rough patch.
Volunteers are people who enjoy listening, talking, and getting to know people. They are trained by Independent Age and have had all the checks you would expect.
Monday – Friday, 10.00am – 4.00pm.
