Supplier of hearing dogs to deaf people

Aims:

To improve the quality of life of severely or profoundly deaf people by supplying them with dogs trained to alert them to chosen everyday sounds, such as the alarm clock, doorbell, telephone and emergency alarms.

Services provided:

  • Selecting dogs between six weeks old and three years old, from a variety of sources or individual rescue centres and members of the public
  • Interviewing deaf people who apply for a dog and if an application is accepted, training a dog for that person’s individual requirements
  • Providing support and aftercare service to working partnership between recipient and hearing dog
  • Raising funds to pay for the above training and life-long aftercare, through nationwide fundraising events.
