Family support service offering regular hours of respite to parents with a child/children with a disability

Services provided:

  • Family support services – supports families where there are one or more children with a disability up to the age of 18 years.
  • Registered and inspected by the Care Inspectorate
  • Provide trained and supported workers and volunteers who visit the family home on a regular weekly and/or fortnightly basis and look after the child / children allowing the parent / carer some time to do something for themselves, spend time with siblings etc. The service is delivered across the Edinburgh area.
  • Volunteers and paid workers deliver the service in the families own home during the day, evenings and weekends. Each session is usually between 3 and 4 hours in duration and is flexible in response to the changing needs of the children and the family.
  • The service is time limited due to funding restrictions and criteria and focusses on helping families and children achieve a sustainable positive change and become more resilient.
  • Provide a range of grant and trust funded services which means that they can work with families awaiting a diagnosis or not in receipt of or eligible for statutory support and respite.

Office: Monday – Friday 9.30am – 5.00pm
