Aims:
Dyslexia Scotwest is an information and advocacy service, dedicated to assisting dyslexic people in the west of Scotland. Our two main aims are:
- To raise awareness and understanding of dyslexia
- To offer help and support to anyone with an interest in dyslexia.
They achieve these two aims by offering a number of services including a helpline, various items of literature, a resource centre, open meetings, an adult support group, and dyslexia awareness training. They also provide advice on dyslexia issues to the Scottish Executive, and business and community groups.
Their operational area covers the 12 unitary authorities which make up the former Strathclyde region, namely the councils of Argyll and Bute; East Ayrshire; East Dunbartonshire; East Renfrewshire; Glasgow City; Inverclyde; North Ayrshire; North Lanarkshire; Renfrewshire; South Ayrshire; South Lanarkshire; and West Dunbartonshire.
