Aims:

To provide activities and support for children and young people with extra support needs and their families.

Services provided:

Their activities currently include evening youth clubs, summer activities, and various outings and parties throughout the year.  They also have a weekly parent and toddler group and a “Makaton Rhyme and Sign” group for children with extra support needs, and they are now working with other organisations to provide various activities and support groups for people with disabilities and their families (see their timetable).  They have on average a fifty strong group of volunteer youth & play workers, minibus drivers and minibus passenger assistants, a voluntary management committee, and DDCA employs one full time manager, and three part time assistant co-ordinators.

opening hours:

Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 1.00pm – 8.00pm
Wednesday and Thursday, 9.00am – 4.00pm

Additional information:

The organisation need volunteer drivers / escorts for their minibus: this operates on a rota basis, so drivers usually drive once or twice a month.
