Aims:

The freephone Dementia helpline is there 24 hours a day for anyone who needs information or someone to talk to about dementia.

Services provided:

The Helpline is staffed by trained staff and volunteers who can help answer questions on:

  • understanding the illness
  • treatments
  • how to get help locally
  • maintaining independence
  • financial and legal matters
  • coping with behaviour
  • community car
  • long-stay care
    anything else to do with dementia

Many of them have had experience of caring for family members with dementia or work with people with dementia.

The helpline can provide information right away on many questions and can send out a free information pack to carers, family members or people with dementia. There is a panel of experts who help answer more complex queries.
