Cue and Review

National newspapers and magazines for young visually impaired people

Description of service:

At Cue and Review – “Print Speaking to the Blind”, they transcribe print magazines and newspapers into audio format for the benefit of the visually and reading impaired. This can be accessed and downloaded online daily, free of charge.

Their project is heavily reliant on volunteers with the support of a team of part time staff (mainly on six month job initiatives funded by the Scottish Government and European streams)

Monday to Saturday their volunteers are reading and then uploading individual articles to the Sonata Internet radio service provided by the British Wireless for the Bind Fund. Via the boxes featured in the video on the web page you can listen to approximately 20 articles from the Herald, 8 Evening Times and 20 articles per week from The National all with the permission of Newsquest Glasgow. They also upload weekly recordings of Inside Soap and Radio Times magazines.

Please do not phone them as they have a limited team that are usually in the studios reading, instead drop them an email or contact them on their Facebook page.
