Covey Befriendings key purpose is that young people are supported on their life journey through strong and supportive befriending relationships – seeing them better equipped to reach their potential.
Covey Befriending provide the following:-
Flexible Support for Young People
One to One Weekly outings lasting 2-3 hours. This is most usually the starting point for the majority of young people’s involvement with COVEY.
Selected young people have a ten week block of support with a focus on outcomes. They learn social skills and confidence in a safe environment.
Term time weekly daytime contact for 1-2 hours
Chance for Change
Individual mentoring style support with a focus on taking steps towards training/education or employment.
Fun educational group programmes lasting one to six weeks to help develop new skills and access local amenities.
Befrienders and young people pair up for outings.
Young people move on to receive training and support and become COVEY young befrienders, giving another young person the support they need.
