Aims:
To ensure that every blind person resident in the United Kingdom, over the age of eight can enjoy the companionship of a reliable radio.
Services provided:
Provides a range of equipment on a free permanent loan basis to registered blind people who are unable to buy their own. For those who meet the criteria, this equipment is available on a free loan basis. To qualify for a set on loan the person must be:
- registered blind or partially sighted
- over 8 years of age
- resident in the UK
- in receipt of a means tested benefit
Equipment includes:
- Radios
- Mono or stereo radio cassette recorders
- CD radio cassette recorders
- DAB Radio
- Personal headphones
- The equipment is maintained, repaired or replaced free of charge for as long as the listener needs them.
