Provide scientifically based nutritional knowledge and advice

Aims:

To promote the nutritional wellbeing of the population by the impartial interpretation and effective dissemination of scientifically based nutritional knowledge and advice.

Services provided:

  • Works in partnership with academic and research institutes, the food industry, educators and the Government
  • Influences all in the food chain, the Government, the professions and the media
  • Receives funds from the food industry, government and other sources.

membership:

The Foundation’s Articles do not provide for individual membership; there are only corporate members and they are listed in the Annual Report. Individuals can, however, subscribe to the Nutrition Bulletin or ask to receive BNF News. The secretary will be happy to provide details.

Publications:

A wide range of materials are produced, including:
Task Force reports, Nutrition Bulletins, Briefing Papers, Nutrition Facts, BNF News, BNF Education news and information sheets, providing basic facts and information on a range of topics.

Additional information:

The Foundation maintains its own reference library and has access to relevant databanks. Nutrition scientists are competent to answer enquiries by telephone, email or letter. This service is used by the media for reliable information and unbiased comment on current nutrition issues.
