Inspiring young people to build a confident future

Aims:

To enable young people from the Lothians to access and sustain the key services they require to make a safe transition to adult responsibilities including independent living, employment, further education and training.

Services provided:

Their services are clusterd in to three teams to deliver their individual support packages.

The three teams are:

Way2Work
Offers a customised, comprehensive employability package to young people aged 15 – 21 years who live in East Lothian or Midlothian.

Transitions
The team works with young people to help them improve their social, educational and emotional development and to safely negotiate the next steps in their transition through school and onward to life after school.

Skills for Life
Their Homemaker supports young tenants and prospective young tenants in East Lothian on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

Their Tutor service has a focus on improving basic literacy and numeracy skills and enabling young people to improve functional educational skills required for college, employment and adult life.

Their group activity programme provides a much needed social space and opens up opportunities for young people to explore personal creativity.
