Borders Disabled Swimmers (Dippers)

Swimming club for people with a disability

Services provided:

The Dippers are a friendly informal group, offering fun and exercise in the water. The combination of disabled and able bodied people interacting together, can offer support to each other and encouragement by those who are working with them, even struggling with them, concentrating on what can be achieved and over-coming the difficulties faced.

There are helpers to guide the non-swimmers to exercise in the water and encourage the able swimmers. Assistance with dressing, undressing and personal hygiene can also be provided.
Jedburgh and Kelso swimming pool offer a range of disabled facilities, allowing the swimmer to relax with the knowledge that the aids are available to encourage independence and enjoyment.

After swimming members can attend a local cafe for lunch and a chat.

THE ONLY FORM OF CONTACT IS THROUGH THE WEBSITE.
