The Bladder and Bowel Foundation, (formerly Incontact and the Continence Foundation) is the UK’s leading charity providing information and support for people with bladder and bowel control problems, their carers, families and healthcare professionals.

  • Medical advice is provided by a nurse helpline by calling 0845 345 0165. This is a 24 hour answer phone service and B&BF nurses will return call, so it is advisable to leave a message. All calls are handled in the strictest confidence.
  • Getting access to the right kind of information can be invaluable, which is why B&BF provides a whole range of literature, from general information on symptoms and coping strategies through to more in-depth clinical advice and treatment options.
  • In their Library section on the website specific patient information can be found, including a range of easy to read booklets which look at bladders and bowels in more detail and explain the possible causes, symptoms and treatment options available. More specific information on medication, products, diet and exercise, and emotional well-being is available from a range of factsheets.

The Just Can’t Wait Card is a must for those who may need access to a toilet quickly when out and about. They also have a number of books, written by specialists and clinicians, available to purchase.
B&BF’s magazine is published three times a year. Members receive a free copy.
