The City of Edinburgh Council Trusted Trader scheme is a local business partnership which aims to:
- increase consumer confidence
- promote good practice with local businesses
It is the only trader directory in Edinburgh that is Council backed, fully vetted by Trading Standards and supported by Police Scotland. The scheme is actively promoted to the 225,000 Edinburgh households.
Edinburgh’s scheme was created after a public consultation found that many home owners don’t know how to find a trustworthy trader. The scheme, which is supported by Police Scotland, also aims to stop doorstep crime and high pressure selling and will play a key role in community safety and adult protection.
